The six member nations of the Gulf Co-operation Council are pulling their ambassadors from Syria immediately because of President Bashar al-Assad's refusal to accept Arab attempts to end the country's bloodshed.

One-time New York Mets outfielder Lenny Dykstra was sentenced Monday to three years in state prison in a grand theft auto case. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Cynthia Ulfig sentenced Dykstra after refusing to allow him to withdraw a no-contest plea. Dykstra has had a series of legal problems over the past year.
