Wildlife officials have shot a polar bear in St. Lewis, Labrador — the third one killed by a wildlife or police officer in the province this year.


Questions are being raised about garbage management after 145 black bears were shot by wildlife officers in northern Alberta's oilsands region last year.


A polar bear that was going house to house in a Northern Peninsula town of Goose Cove overnight was killed by provincial conservation officials who feared it might harm someone.
