Eleven patients were given MRIs immediately after eastern Newfoundland's largest health authority was ordered in January to review wait lists for the diagnostic procedure.

Two Montreal cardiologists are facing disciplinary action over allegations they received hefty kickbacks to push patients to the top of the waiting list, the Quebec College of Physicians says.

More than 280,000 people who have been waiting years for a decision on their immigration files could be soon be chopped from the list as the federal government moves to streamline its immigration practices.
