The Fed now expects a slightly lower unemployment rate at the end of the year.
Unemployment was unchanged in February as private employers added 227,000 jobs, slightly more than expected.
Germany's seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate held steady at 6.8% in February, the Federal Labour Agency says.
The unemployment rate in the eurozone continued to rise in January, hitting a new record of 10.7%, the Eurostat agency says.
