The host of the popular news program Reality Check has asked if the Second Boston Massacre, as it is coming to be known, was a case of FBI entrapment which followed a tragic path similar to the known entrapment case of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Two days after the White House announced an al-Qaeda plot to blow up a passenger flight using a new kind of underwear bomb, intelligence officials have revealed that the attempt was foiled by a double agent the CIA planted in al-Qaeda.

The 25-year-old Nigerian student, who tried but failed to blow up a Northwest airliner with a bomb hidden in his underwear as it prepared to land in Detroit on Christmas Day 2009, has been sentenced to life in prison.
