Alberto Contador is handed a two-year ban for a doping offence - and is stripped of his 2010 Tour de France title.

Federal prosecutors say they are closing a criminal investigation of Lance Armstrong and will not charge him over allegations the seven-time Tour de France winner used performance-enhancing drugs.


Nearing the long-awaited verdict on his Tour de France doping case, Alberto Contador finished 98th in the Mallorca Challenge race on Sunday. The Spaniard was due to later to return to Madrid with the Court of Arbitration for Sport delivering its ruling on Monday on whether he will be banned.


The World Anti-Doping Agency on Tuesday urged U.S. federal authorities to quickly hand over evidence collected in their lengthy probe into seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong and doping in American cycling.
