Toronto - Toronto Zoo held its 13th International Migratory Bird Day last Saturday, 12 May 2012. As has become something of a tradition, I joined the party by tagging along on the birding walk in the closed-off sections of the zoo.

The decision by Toronto city council to send three elephants from the Toronto Zoo to an animal sanctuary in California has apparently cost the facility its international accreditation with the Aquarium and Zoos Association.


The three elephants from the Toronto Zoo that are being shipped to a wildlife sanctuary in California, will be travelling in style. They're be flying in a private plane, thanks to animal activist Bob Barker.


The owners of Guzoo, a private zoo in central Alberta, are waiting for a necropsy to find out how two wolves died but suspect they were poisoned.

Zoo animals fight to get back to their beloved Big Apple.
A ram and a deer are set to be married at a zoo in south-western China on Valentine's Day, state-run media report.
