Over 200 ducks put down after landing in Syncrude tailing ponds

Fort Mcmurray - On October 22, a judge ordered Syncrude to pay $3 million in fines after the company had been found guilty of causing the deaths of hundreds of ducks in 2008.

Syncrude guilty on charges related to deaths of 1,600 ducks

Edmonton - Judge Ken Tjosvold made a landmark ruling Friday when he found Syncrude guilty on two separate charges laid in the deaths of 1,600 ducks. The ducks died in a Syncrude tailings pond in 2008.
