The weather’s getting hotter and many people like to play and swim in public pools. Sometimes these communal areas can be sites of contamination and infection. The CDC has offered new advice.

As thousands of residents in southern California attempt to escape the stifling heat plaguing the area, wildlife are also seeking refuge from the triple digit temperatures, prompting a bear to take a dip in one neighborhood pool.
Hatfield Heath -
A couple staying at a luxury country hotel in England were found dead in the swimming pool. Guests thought the police that responded were "part of the action." The couple were Josephine Foday and Komba Kpakiwa.
Police are investigating after staff found several razor blades in a public swimming pool located in a Canadian city. The blades were found embedded both in the side and at the bottom of the pool.
An Ohio Civil Rights Commission administrative judge heard arguments at a hearing in Cincinnati Friday and is considering appropriate penalties against a landlord who posted a "White only" sign on the gate to a swimming pool at a duplex in Cincinnati.

A sophomore at Colorado State University was captured on cameraphone as he stood on the roof of an apartment complex and leaped from it, aiming at the swimming pool below. He missed and landed with a thud at the edge before rolling into the water.
Last week a soccer team in the United States came to Toronto to attend a soccer tournament. Last Friday police were called to Crowne Plaza Hotel after two of the boys, 12 and 13, were reported to be struggling to stay afloat in the pool.
Valley Club in Huntingdon Valley is accused of refusing to allow black children from a day camp to swim. The children allegedly heard members of the club make racial comments about them while they were at the pool.
