Texas Republican Congressman Ron Paul has won the 2010 Conservative Political Action Conference Presidential straw poll and defeated 11 other contenders, including former Governors Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin.

Former governor of Arkansas and 2008 Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has won a straw poll in Washington during the Values Voter Summit on Saturday.

The poll took place on Saturday night at the annual conference named the Virginia Republican Advance. Congressman Paul won the poll with 182 out of the 479 total votes that were cast, or roughly 38 per cent.

The Maryland Republican party held its first ever straw poll at the State Fair which resulted in votes from nearly 1,000 Marylanders. All nine presidential candidates were on the ballot and Congressman Ron Paul came out the winner with 263 votes.
