Lawyers for the federal government and a group of Vancouver sex-trade workers are in Canada's top court to argue the validity of an attempted constitutional challenge to prostitution laws.

Serial murderer Robert Pickton claimed in a 2000 video interview with police that we was the victim in a confrontation with a sex worker at his B.C. pig farm in 1997.

The federal government will appeal to the Supreme Court a recent lower court ruling that sex workers can legally ply their trade indoors.

Ontario's Court of Appeal has ruled that sex workers should be able to legally take their trade indoors and pay staff to support them.
