'Frankenfish' caught in Virginia confirmed as new world record

A Virginia man has broken the world's record for catching the largest snakehead fish ever. His whopper of a catch weighed in at 17 pounds, six ounces. The Spotsylvania County resident caught the giant fish on June 1.

Occoquan - A Northern Virginia man caught a massive snakehead fish in the Occoquan River, a tributary of the Potomac River. The catch was made on May 8, and is a record-breaker, at least unofficially.
