'Vaccine fatigue' may be to blame

A new "flu report card" says B.C. tops the country when it comes to influenza vaccination, but experts say the results still show more people should be getting the vaccine countrywide

Three years after swine flu closed Mexico City and caused an international scare, the Mexican government and local media are at odds over the severity of this season's flu virus.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported the lowest influenza infection rate in 30 years of tracking flu activity, as well as the slowest recorded start to the flu season.

Heading into the Family Day weekend, only 202 people had been diagnosed with the flu this season. That compares to 3,059 at this time last year.
