Rogers Communications Inc. announced an 11 per cent increase in its dividend Wednesday as the telecom giant reported higher fourth-quarter profits that easily beat analyst expectations.


Rogers Communications will tighten its belt to deal with tough competition in the wireless and cable TV markets that has cut into profits, shareholders were told at the company's AGM.


A grassroots group has launched an online petition urging Canadians to speak out against domination of the cellphone market by the country's big three wireless companies – Rogers Communications Inc., BCE Inc. and Telus Corp.
