Rim Fire cause determined with 237,341 acres burned

Groveland - The U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement & Investigations has determined what caused the blaze that has so far burned 237, 341 acres in California.

70% containment of Rim Fire, at 235,841 acres

Seventy percent containment has been achieved on the Rim Fire in California. Evacuation advisories remain in effect for sections of Hwy 120 in Tuolumne County.

Fire officials report 40 percent containment on California's Rim Fire, which has now burned for 15 days, and in the process scorched 222,777 acres. A possible cause has been suggested.
