A proposal is being labelled as "Brothel Island," after Ward 7 York West Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti put forth the idea that Toronto Island is the best place to centralize prostitution. Should the summer hangout be a red-light district?
The Dutch justice ministry is going to finish the job started by the Amsterdam city council in December -- to cleanse Amsterdam's red-light district of all its organised-crime and people-smuggling gangs. About 320 prostitution windows will be closed.
Window shopping will forever change in Amsterdam, as the city has ruled it's time to clean up its sleazy act. Amsterdam is tearing down the most famous part of its city, the Red Light District, in an effort to quash crime.
