Ponta Delgada - A magnitude 6.0 earthquake has struck in the Atlantic Ocean just 60 kilometers (38 miles) east of Ponta Delgada on the island of São Miguel in the Azores archipelago.

Lisbon - As the result of a Constitutional Court ruling that struck down several parts of the Portuguese government's austerity budget, the prime minister claims that he will be forced to make even deeper spending cuts.

Recently Ikea in Europe withdrew its stock of Swedish meatballs, after tests found horsemeat content. Now it seems their wiener sausages are also suspect.

At least 10 people have died and 33 were injured on Sunday morning in a bus accident in central Portugal. In rainy weather, the bus fell into a ravine in the town of Sertã, in the central region of Castelo Branco.
