Leonard Cohen’s ninth stop on his North American tour in Vancouver was greeted with a standing ovation before a single chord had been struck, setting the tone for the night.
Vancouver will become the 17th team in Major League Soccer in 2011. They were awarded one of the two expansion franchises beating off competition from Ottawa, St Louis, and Portland (Oregon). Home games will be played at a refurbished BC Place stadium.
