US students average among world’s top performing countries

Washington - Recent results from the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) show Chinese students, taking the PISA exam for the first time, placed first in all three categories of math, science and reading, while US students were around or below average.

A new report shows that 15 year-old high school students in the US are average, compared to the international arena, where students in countries such as China, Canada, New Zealand and Japan consistently outrank them in categories of reading, math and science. The results show one of the factors being lack of respect for teachers in the US.
