The Toronto Raptors will try to halt an eight-game losing skid Tuesday night with a rare win over the hometown Phoenix Suns, winners in the last 14 meetings between the teams.


Paul Millsap scored 26 points and Al Jefferson went on a personal 8-0 fourth-quarter run as the Utah Jazz defeated the Phoenix Suns 100-88 Tuesday night to secure a Western Conference playoff spot.


Andrea Bargnani returned after missing six games with a left calf strain to score 27 of his 36 points in the second half, and the Toronto Raptors snapped an eight-game losing streak by beating Phoenix 99-96 on Tuesday night, their first win over the Suns in eight years.


Calgary looks to gain more ground on Phoenix when the teams meet Thursday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.


A public inquiry into the death of Phoenix Sinclair, a five-year-old Manitoba girl who was slain in 2005, could be delayed by the union representing child-welfare workers.
