Since the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, former President Donald Trump and his Republican allies have pushed false and misleading accounts to downplay the event that left five dead and scores of others wounded. Somebody was listening.

According to documents, the Department of Homeland Security spies on peaceful demonstrators, because it is a "matter of policy."

The “Global Peace Index” (GPI) compiled by the Economist Intelligence Unit ranks Iceland the top peaceful place in the world. The United States is ranked 97th and Russia is ranked 131st among 140 nations.
