Park Geun-hye was sworn in Monday (February 25th) as South Korea's first female president. Her father Park Chung-hee ruled South Korea during the 1960's and 1970's as a military dictator.

Park Geun-hye has been inaugurated and assumed office as the first female president of South Korea on Monday. As president she will be faced with two major challenges, the slowing economy and the question of how to deal with the North Korean threat.
