Nile River in the middle of looming water crisis

In Africa, water is critical to the survival of over one-third of the population. At least 300 million people lack any access to water, and over 313 million people lack proper sanitation. This is one reason the waters of the Nile River are at stake.

Egypt's Nile River threatened by gas spill from barge

Egypt's portion of the biblical Nile River is being threatened by the environmental effect of a gas leak from a barge docked in Aswan, about 700 miles south of Cairo.
