Apodaca -
Nearly 50 inmates of Prison Apodaca in northern Mexico are reported to have died while several more are injured. The deaths follow a riot in D Dormitory in what appears to be a fight between members of the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas Cartel.
Monterrey -
At least 53 people were killed in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey when a gambling casino was attacked by suspected gunmen who threw grenades, fired gunshots and burned the place.
