According to Associated Press a young man who is allegedly a U.S. citizen blew himself in a suicide action in AMISOM base in Mogadishu killing at least 9 people.

A suicide truck bombing at the Ministry of Education in Mogadishu claims at least 70 lives. Many of the victims are students who were to receive scholarships from the Turkish government. Al-Shabbab militants have claimed responsibility for the attack.

Two radio stations in Mogadishu were taken off air on Sunday and their equipment confiscated by rebels. HornAfrik Radio and Global Broadcasting Corporation were separately raided by fighters from the Al-Shabaab and Hizbul Islam respectively.
