A Martian meteorite, an incredibly rare object, is given to the Natural History Museum, London, to help unravel the secrets of the Red Planet.

Meteorite chunks from Mars fell over Morocco last summer — the first time in 50 years such an event has occurred, scientists confirmed Tuesday.

The Natural History Museum in London has acquired its largest Martian meteorite, which could hold new clues to life on Mars.

The giant asteroid Vesta, the source of about one in 20 meteorites found on Earth, got clobbered not once but twice, and it has the scars to prove it.

New evidence from carbon in meteorites suggests that the basic building blocks of life are present on Mars, a study in Science journal says.
