Medical supplies Headlines

Medication used to treat the most common form of childhood leukemia is in short supply, adding to the largest nationwide shortage of critical life-saving hospital medications in nearly a decade.
A Red Cross convoy is on its way to the Baba Amr area of the Syrian city of Homs to deliver food and medical supplies after a month-long siege.

The federal government has offered to dip into its emergency supply of medications to help ease the ongoing drug shortage created by production problems at Sandoz Canada.

Between blasts of rockets and mortar fire, Syrians used loudspeakers to call for blood donations and medical supplies Thursday in the stricken city of Homs, where a weeklong government offensive has created a deepening humanitarian crisis.

Syria blocked a Red Cross convoy Friday from delivering badly needed food, medical supplies and blankets to a rebellious neighbourhood of Homs cut off by a month-long siege, the International Committee of the Red Cross says.
