Hockey Hall of Fame inducts four NHL greats, passes on others

The Hockey Hall of Fame can only induct four players each year and it would be hard to argue with the choices this year, announced Tuesday. Going into the Hall in a Nov. 12 ceremony will be Joe Sakic, Mats Sundin, Pavel Bure and Adam Oates.

Op-Ed: Let's use a computer and declare a 2005 Stanley Cup winner

Okay, this isn't gonna fly but it should: declare a winner, somehow, of the Stanley Cup for the 2004-05 season. The one that wasn't, the playoffs that never happened - the lockout year. Get some more names on the Cup.

Former Leafs star Mats Sundin helps kids shape up Special

Toronto - Former NHL star Mats Sundin may have ended his career as a Vancouver Canuck, but he made a welcomed return to his “second home” as a Toronto Maple Leaf.

Mats Sundin announces retirement from hockey

With just over four minutes left in overtime, the Air Canada Centre was about to be filled with some magic from Mats. With the Maple Leafs shorthanded and the game on the line, Mats Sundin simply walked over the Calgary Flames blue line and let one rip.

NHL Star Mats Sundin Signs With Vancouver Canucks

After many months of waiting, Mats Sundin has finally signed with an NHL team for the 2008-2009 season: the Vancouver Canucks. The free agent centre joins the Canucks after playing more than 1,300 career NHL regular season games with Toronto and Quebec.

Op-Ed: Hockey's Back - Toronto Maple Leafs Open Training Camp Today

You see that guy? No, not Dan Cleary, fool. The psycho fan. While I'm not sure it's even possible, I might be more excited than him today. Hockey. Is. Back.

Op-Ed: Questioning Mats Sundin's Leadership Is Pointless

The cause celebre of the media and bloggers these days is to question the leadership of former Toronto Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin. Funny, I thought we had buried this topic years ago.

Mats Sundin Yet To Decide His Playing Future

Today is the day we were supposed to learn of Mats Sundin's decision regarding his future. Well, much to nobody's surprise, that ain't happening. But let's talk about Mats anyways.

Op-Ed: What Will Free Agent Mats Sundin Do?

Mats Sundin has not signed with the Vancouver Canucks. At least not yet. A report yesterday that he had signed with Vancouver turned out to be false. But I get the feeling that Sundin is closer and closer to finally making a decision on his future.

Op-Ed: Should the Toronto Maple Leafs Target Free Agent Jaromir Jagr?

Now that most of the dust has settled, it's time to focus on who's next for the Toronto Maple Leafs. With over $8.5 million left in salary cap space, the roster is yet to be finalized.

Op-Ed: What Happens If Mats Sundin Leaves The Toronto Maple Leafs?

Still no word from Maple Leafs forward Mats Sundin. If he leaves, I think I'm ready. I'm holding out hope, though, that he'll return for another season in the blue and white.

Op-Ed: Much Ado About Mats Sundin

Much has been made in regards to Mats Sundin's comments about his hockey future. Will he stay? Will he go? Will he hang up the skates? No one, not even Sundin apparently, knows.

Maple Leafs Lose To Buffalo, and Reports of a Sundin-to-Montreal Trade

Painful loss last night by the Maple Leafs in more ways than one. It took a hell of a lot longer than I thought, but Nik Antropov has finally been injured. A knee injury to boot. His was a run that was good while it lasted. I hope you enjoyed it.

Op-Ed: Mats Sundin Chooses to Stay in Toronto, And I Can't Be Mad At Him For That

After refusing to waive his no-trade clause, Mats Sundin remains a Toronto Maple Leaf. The Captain couldn't abandon ship. To quote the late, great Tupac Shakur, "I'm wit cha, I ain't mad at cha. Got nuttin but love for ya, do your thing boy."

Toronto Maple Leafs Will Likely Trade Captain Mats Sundin

The wheels are in motion. Mats Sundin is on the verge of being traded. Tonight may be his final game on home ice as a member of the Maple Leafs. My dream of Sundin hoisting the Stanley Cup in the blue and white is dying a slow and painful death.

Op-Ed: Happy Birthday Mats Sundin

Mats Sundin turns 37 today. With his future in Toronto much in doubt I feel like I must take the time to thank him for his service in Toronto, and wish him well not only on his birthday, but in the future too. So here's a birthday card for Mats Sundin.

Report: Mats Sundin Agrees To Be Traded

The NHL's trade deadline is exactly two weeks away. In 14 days, Mats Sundin may no longer be a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Kevin Dupont of the Boston Globe is reporting that Sundin has given his blessing to be traded--but only to the "right" team.

Op-Ed: Toronto Maple Leafs - Keep Sundin

I just finished reading the latest entry by Godd Till on CoxBloc.com entitled "Keep Sundin" and, well, you've got to read it. It is required reading for any and every Toronto Maple Leafs fan out there. Trust me.

OP-ED: A Night To Remember Thanks to Mats Sundin

Last night in Toronto, Mats Sundin scored his 390th goal and 917th point as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, making him the franchise's all-time leading scorer. And I was there.
