The man who was distracted by the electronic device he was holding and fell 60 feet to his death at San Diego's Sunset Cliffs has been identified, lifeguards say.
The incident happened around 4:50 p.m. on Christmas day.
El Monte -
What started as a bit of fun for 14 Southern Californian lifeguards, ended with them losing their jobs. Now sense prevails, and their jobs will be reinstated. However, not all the lifeguards will take the El Monte Council up on its offer.
Roy Lester has been a lifeguard for over four decades. Now at 61-years-old he feels his employers were wrong to demand he wear the figure-hugging Speedo trunks. Lester believes the Speedo ruling is an attempt to rid Jones Beach of its aging lifeguards.
