Federal prosecutors say they are closing a criminal investigation of Lance Armstrong and will not charge him over allegations the seven-time Tour de France winner used performance-enhancing drugs.

US prosecutors close an investigation into allegations of criminal conduct over doping claims in a cycle team partly owned by Lance Armstrong.

The World Anti-Doping Agency on Tuesday urged U.S. federal authorities to quickly hand over evidence collected in their lengthy probe into seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong and doping in American cycling.


Lance Armstrong says he's relieved by the end of a nearly two-year federal investigation into doping allegations against him, and that he always remained confident he would not be charged.


The Bears agreed to a one-year contract extension through 2014 with Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs, keeping one of their cornerstone players happy.
