The B.C. government has moved to limit debate and pass the bill ending job actions by the province's 41,000 teachers, with passage expected by Thursday afternoon.

The chief executive of Qantas says the airline would be forced to cut services and jobs should pro-Australia airline bills be passed.

The Nova Scotia government says it will consider an opposition bill to make it illegal for a boss to ask employees or job seekers for their passwords to Facebook and other social media sites.


The Obama administration in the United States is calling for stronger privacy protections for consumers as mobile gadgets, internet services and other tools are able to do a better job of tracking what you do and where you go.

Would websites like Google, Facebook and Twitter go dark to protest SOPA and PIPA, bills in the House and Senate meant to crack down on online piracy of music and Hollywood films? The technology industry will not explicitly deny that the idea was discussed.
