Japan's whaling fleet sets sail for Antarctica
A total of four Japanese whaling vessels left Japanese ports on Friday bound for the Southern Ocean on their annual hunt of minke whales and other large cetaceans in the seas around Antarctica.

Tokyo - Japan's Fisheries Agency reports the Japanese whaling fleet took 267 whales during the 2011-12 whaling season. Although numbers fell far short of the 900 quota allotted, it still exceeded last season's take by 172 whales.
