Despite being outpitched by his good buddy, Chris Carpenter, in Game 5 of the NLDS in which St. Louis upset Philadelphia 1-0, Halladay's legend grew a bit this off-season for a heroic effort far from the ordinary.


Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Henderson Alvarez is entering the 2011 season in a similar position to that of fellow pitcher Kyle Drabek last spring. The adjustments he makes at spring training may determine whether or not Alvarez heads in a direction similar to that of former Jays ace Roy Halladay, or come to a fork in the road like Drabek.
