NASA uses 'Plan B' to reorient Voyager 1 in interstellar space

NASA scientists needed to reorient the 40-year-old Voyager 1 - the space agency's farthest spacecraft so its antenna would point toward Earth, 13 billion miles away. Their first option, thrusters for reorienting the probe were wearing out. Enter Plan B.

NASA to attempt fix for stricken Kepler Observatory

NASA announced on Wednesday that it will attempt to revive the ailing Kepler Space Observatory by mid-to-late July, but engineers warn that the recovery attempt is not a sure thing.

New planet: Among seven found, three are in habitable zone

Using new observation of Gliese 667C, astronomers found seven planets circling a star, including three super-Earths orbiting in the habitable zone. Gliese 667 is a triple-star system in the constellation of Scorpius that has masses smaller than Sun.

Astronomers find potentially habitable planet HD 40307 g

Scientists have found a new exoplanet that they believe may have the right conditions to support life. The new planet, called HD 40307 g, is part of a six-planet system.

NASA- One in four Sun-like stars may have planets like Earth

Only one in the universe, eh? The largest planetary census study ever undertaken by NASA and UCLA says otherwise. Five years spent searching 166 Sun like stars have found that smaller planets around these stars are more numerous.
