Google’s GrandCentral, a free online phone service, has changed to “Google Voice” and has implemented more features such as voice transcription of messages, free SMS messages, conference calling and more.

Google will provide free voicemail service, including a virtual personal phone number, for all the homeless people in San Francisco. The homeless can use this number to receive calls from their loved ones, hospitals and agencies.

TechCrunch reports that Google is acquiring GrandCentral, an online phone service that links all the phone numbers (home, office, mobile) into one unique number, where messages can be received and organized for easy tracking.
