Salt Lake City - The man credited with inventing the Pluto Platter, later named the frisbee, Walter Fredrick Morrison, has died at the age of 90 in his Utah residence.

Frisbee Celebrates Its 50th Birthday

Frisbee formerly known as Pluto Platter turns 50 years Sunday. Frisbee got its name from the Frisbie Pie company, when students were playing with empty pie tins and called them Frisbie. Wham-O changed its name to Frisbee after acquiring Pluto Platter.
