Three soldiers die in explosion at army base in Spain

An explosion at the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit at the Álvarez de Sotomayor camp in Viator, Almería, Spain has killed three soldiers and injured a further two, including a sergeant.

At least 12 people killed in blast at Chinese explosives factory

Zhangqiu - 34 people were reportedly inside the building at the time of the explosion, of which 12 are dead, several are injured and many missing. The cause of the blast is still unknown.

Fire on Belgian chemical train prompts evacuation of 300 people

Ghent - After a train carrying chemicals derailed and caught on fire, almost 300 people were evacuated from their homes in Ghent, northwestern Belgium. Update: One person is dead and 49 injured in the incident, two of which are in intensive care.

UPDATE Boston area remains locked down

Boston - UPDATE Boston and surrounding areas remain in lock down after one bombing suspect has been killed, the other still at large. One suspect was in custody while being transported to a hospital but later died from multiple gunshot wounds.
