Video released of first contact with 9000 emperor penguin colony

A video of an Antarctic penguin colony's first contact with humans has been released by researchers from the International Polar Foundation (IPF).

Emperor Penguins found in greater numbers

Emperor penguins are common to Antarctica and are one of the species most commonly associated with the ice-covered environment. Now scientists, using advanced satellites, have calculated that the numbers of penguins are far higher than previously thought.

Emperor penguin endemic to the Antarctic shows up in New Zealand

A young emperor penguin has been spotted on the western coast of New Zealand's North Island at Peka Peka Beach. The penguin's native Antarctica lies thousands of miles away.
