Elisabeth Goergl of Austria won the third women's World Cup downhill of the season on Saturday. The downhill world champion finished the 2.85-kilometre Kaernten-Franz Klammer course in 1 minute, 48.40 seconds to beat Julia Mancuso of the United States by 0.16.


Austria's Elisabeth Goergl was fastest in Wednesday's training run for a World Cup downhill race on the wind-swept St. Moritz course. But the today also featured the return of Canadian skier Kelly VanderBeek, who hasn't competed in a World Cup race since suffering a serious knee injury in December of 2009.
