Oetzi the iceman, whose body was frozen into the Italian Alps 5,300 years ago, had brown eyes, type O blood and was lactose intolerant, a DNA analysis shows.

Researchers publish the complete genome of the 5,300-year-old Oetzi, the "Iceman", revealing his eye colour, blood type and a number of his ailments.
Mummified body found in Alps was predisposed to coronary heart disease.
Scientists have sequenced the genome of the famed 5,300-year-old Tyrolean iceman, found frozen in the Alps in 1991 -- and discovered he had genetic vulnerability to heart disease, as well as Lyme disease.

Oetzi the "iceman" suffered a number of injuries at the time of his death, including the fatal arrow wound in his back, according to researchers who recovered red blood cells from his mummified remains.
