Daytona Headlines

NASCAR president Mike Helton says the Daytona 500 will start Monday night at 7 p.m. ET. Heavy rain soaked Daytona International Speedway on Sunday, forcing NASCAR to postpone the event for the first time in its 54-year history.

GOP candidates look to gain support with conservative racing fans.

First came the rain. Then came the fire. Everything that could go wrong with this Daytona 500 did go wrong, and the first NASCAR race in primetime television will be remembered for everything but the eventual winner.

Think you're paying too much for gas? Be glad you're not filling up for the Daytona 500. The gas Nascar drivers will put into their tanks on Sunday costs $7.80 a gallon. With tax, it's $8.26—roughly twice what Americans now are paying at the pump.

NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski gained more than 100,000 Twitter followers Monday night after proving he's the only driver to be as fast on the smartphone as he is on the track.
