The Consulate of the Netherlands in San Francisco is very pleased with the restoration of the Murphy Windmill in Golden Gate Park this past summer and has been taking time to celebrate and thank everyone involved in the lengthy and complex restoration.
Silvio Levy and his wife Sheila Newbery were guests of the Dutch Consulate that evening. Seen here chatting with Cornelia de Schepper a member of the Netherland-America Foundation, Levy and Newbery's son is currently studying in Holland.
John Van Benheuvel, Sander Van dijk, Frans Van Gosliga and staff from the Consul General's office of the Netherlands also joined in on the curator's tour of the Van Otterloo collection that day, Sept. 23, 2011.
Examples of contemporary Dutch art & design were prominently displayed. Consul General Bart van Bolhuis graciously open his home to host a party to celebrate the restoration of the Murphy Windmill in Golden Gate park and the premiere of the Van Otterloo collection exhibit of Dutch Masters at the Legion of Honor Museum. "These are happy days for the Dutch here in San Francisco," he said.
