Since 9/11 U.S. has spent $1.6 trillion on war-making

Washington - In the 13 years since the September 11 attacks, the Congressional Research Office (CRS) estimates that the U.S. has spent $1.6 trillion. The total is to the end of September 2014 the end of the fiscal year for the US government.

U.S. welfare spending hits $1 trillion, up 32% in last four years

Washington - Recently released figures from the Congressional Research Service (CRS) and the Senate Budget Committee show that welfare spending has grown by 32 percent since 2008 and federal and state spending reached more than $1 trillion in 2011.
