A 22 per cent increase in sales propelled Chrysler Canada into top spot in January, displacing Ford.


Members of the CAW have ratified new three-year contracts at Chrysler supply plants in Windsor, Ont.


Chrysler Canada claimed the top spot Thursday with sales of 16,536 cars and light trucks in February, up from 15,238 in the same month last year.


Chrysler has 60,000 minivans in the U.S. this year and sales jumped again in March, forcing Windsor Assembly Plant workers to work some overtime.

Chrysler announced its best monthly retail sales in four year years, giving a taste of what is expected to be a strong year and December for manufacturers and consumers hunting for deals.
