An explosion at the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit at the Álvarez de Sotomayor camp in Viator, Almería, Spain has killed three soldiers and injured a further two, including a sergeant.

Zhangqiu - 34 people were reportedly inside the building at the time of the explosion, of which 12 are dead, several are injured and many missing. The cause of the blast is still unknown.

Stockholm - An explosion in an apartment in north-west Stockholm has killed three people and has caused a fire, forcing residents to be evacuated from the building. The motive for the blast may be murder.

Sanmenxia - At least six people have been killed and several injured after a fireworks truck exploded, causing a section of a highway to collapse in China’s central Henan province.

Mexico - An explosion rocked the high-rise headquarters of Pemex, a state-owned oil company in Mexico City on Thursday. At least 32 people were killed and around 121 people have been injured. (Updated)

Beihai - One advantage of being under constant surveillance by CCTV cameras is the amazing array of videos that are produced for the media. In this one, a sewer explodes massively, but luckily with no injuries.

Springfield - After reports of a gas leak, a powerful natural gas explosion leveled three buildings, and damaged 42 buildings in total, in Springfield, Massachusetts. No one was killed, but 18 were injured and are in a stable condition.

Gaza - The eight day strike by Israel on Gaza not only killed 168 Palestinians, most them civilians, but has also resulted in $300 million in economic damage, the Palestinian Chamber of Commerce reports.

Tver - A propane truck exploded in a car park in Tver, Russia on Wednesday night causing a huge fire. As yet, no injuries have been reported and the fire is under control.

Indianapolis - A massive blast struck suburban Indianapolis on Saturday night, killing two people and injuring four. The cause of the blast is still under investigation.
