A young humpback whale has died on White Rock beach after becoming stranded by the receding tide. The whale is believed to have been between 1 and 3 years of age.

After nearly 12 hours of work, Mexican Navy personnel with the help of hundreds of civilian volunteers, assisted a young grey whale so it could return to sea; the calf became beached on Friday at Punta Conejo Bay, near the port of Salina Cruz, Oaxaca.
