Little motel wins victory over zoning law to shut it down Special

San Francisco - The Beach Motel can rest easy now that victory has been won in the SF Board of Appeals decision to allow the small and modest hotel to remain in operation as a tourist/guest motel.

Beach Motel has been in operation since 1957. When the zoning code changed in 1960, the motel continued to be a motel. And, when Mr. Patel bought the 20-room motel in 1983 it was a motel. "It has strictly been a motel since I bought the place," he said.
