Two patients in the US paralysed from the neck down are able to control a robotic arm using their thoughts alone.
Cathy Hutchinson, who is paralyzed from a stroke, used a mind-controlled robotic arm to drink from a bottle. It is a system called BrainGate, which used a tiny implanted sensor in the brain to send signals to the muscles, bypassing damaged nerves.

Using only her thoughts, a Massachusetts woman paralyzed for 15 years directed a robotic arm to pick up a bottle of coffee and bring it to her lips, researchers report.

Robot runs up to 18 MPH, the new land speed record for legged robots.
