Bacteria that have never before come in contact with humans, their diseases or their antibiotics, but are nevertheless resistant to a variety of antibiotics, have been discovered in a U.S. cave.


The U.S. Food and Drug Administration called on drug companies to limit the use of antibiotics in farm animals to curb surge in drug-resistant bacteria.

Tuberculosis which appears to be totally resistant to antibiotic treatment is reported for the first time by Indian doctors.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people not to eat certain No Name beef burgers and beef steakettes that were distributed nationally because they may be contaminated with E. coli.


The public is being warned not to consume certain ground beef products which bear the establishment number 761 because they may be contaminated with E. coli bacteria.
