Greece is famous as the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Ancient Olympia is renowned as the home of the Olympic Flame. The Turkish Prime Minister has decided history could be improved upon by claiming Turkey is in fact the true owner of the Olympic Flame.

The 2012 Olympic Flame is to be lit on Thursday May 10 in Ancient Olympia, site of the very first Olympics. The Olympic Torch Relay across Greece will be completed on May 17 when the torch will arrive at Athens’ Kallimarmaro stadium.

Ancient artefacts were stolen from the museum at Ancient Olympia, Greece, on Friday morning, by armed thieves who tied up a female security guard.
